The orginal plan was to stay 2 nights at Lobuche and hike to Gorak Shep and Kala Patar as a day trip.  The yak dung smoke was a little thick at Lobuche and some of us were not sure we could do the long day trip - so we opted to hike to Gorak Shep and spend the night there.
