Xochicalco Ruins - 4/12/2005 This archeological site is located about 25 miles south of Cuernavaca and is one of the most important sites in Mexico. It was a commercial, cultural and religious center for various cultures (Toltec, Olmec, Zapotec, Mixtec and Aztec). In around AD 650, a congress of leaders representing Mayan, Zapotec and Gulf Coast people met here and correlated their respective calendars. |
